Update #1 (Week 2): Design Idea

The basic idea is that of a Washer Suit to be used for the elderly and for paraplegic patients; in both cases, the necessity for bathing by a nurse would be lessened. The design features an astronaut suit-like casing that would utilize jacuzzi or hot tub water jets to help bathe the patient within the suit while keeping all of the water contained. Other aspects to be considered include soap distribution, a drying mechanism, materials to be used, portability, and safety.

Figure 1.1 below illustrates and details the preliminary design idea proposed by the group. This design is in the initial stage, and therefore will be further developed and discussed in the near future.

Figure 1.2 below depicts the progress of the group's organizational planning and discussions. The photo was taken during the entire group's first official meeting.
